Looking at the results of the most recently closed Linked In poll may lead some to wonder if content for the web is really all that important...it is! Don't forget that the audience of participants is limited to those who are on Linked In and we'd argue that this skews results dramatically. Based on the conversations that we have with business leaders more generally, content is an overlooked and misunderstood element of their web development plan. All of that said, there were still over 50% of respondents who selected 1-2 changes or additions monthly OR LESS as their answer. If these results were put out to a more general audience we suspect that the group representing infrequent change would be dramatically higher.
Why is content such a critical element of inbound marketing? Simply put, more content offers greater opportunity for your target audience to find you. If this isn't important to your company then you don't need to be concerned. We'd argue that in todays increasingly internet oriented community you should...BE CONCERNED!
