Integration of Your Inbound Marketing Plan for Business Growth

inbound marketing is the integration of several elements to achieve best in class online marketing resultsRemember this symbol? Calculus class? It's the integral symbol. Why would we be bringing this out in a blog that's about inbound marketing? If you remember the symbol, you might also remember that what an integral represents, basically the entire area under or over a line that is defined by a certain function f(x)= something complex (or simple for that matter) in an xy plane. (If you're an engineer, give us a break, this isn't a math lessson!) And just exactly how does that relate to inbound marketing? The most powerful results of an inbound marketing plan are achieved when there is integration of all the tools that inbound marketing offers: content creation, social media, SEO, landing pages, lead generation and nurturing, and analytics. In the last couple of posts we talked about some of the strategic planning considerations for your inbound marketing plan, and we said we would talk about some of the relationships in our next post and so here we are...integration of inbound marketing elements is what makes it so successful. How does it work?

Key Inbound Marketing Element Relationships

inbound marketing elements are intertwined

Creative Content- SEO and analytics are the two main inbound marketing elements but lead generation and social media are also related since making offers relevant to page content and using social media to promote your content are closely bound together;

Social Media- Again, SEO and analytics are the two key inbound marketing elements related to social media. Remember, we're not looking at how to use tools, rather what are the relationships between inbound elements. With time, social media becomes part of your company's web content as it links to your main company website. For example, a webinars slide content that is posted on www.slideshare.net becomes another part of your company internet web;

Lead Generation- SEO and analytics... are you detecting a trend?

Let's pause. In fact come to a full stop. IME has always put forward that:

Inbound marketing is the integration or marriage of content development, social media and lead generation/nurturing with SEO and analytics in a planned way that allows iteration based on results.

What this means is that each of the key inbound marketing elements are related and can be used by your company to grow your business. It requires time and effort but the results are there if you want them...do you? If your company is like so many others, you're finding that your spend on conventional outbound marketing efforts such as cold calling, TV, print, radio, tradeshows etc. are not achieving the results they once did and it is getting increasingly expensive to keep the numbers up. Inbound marketing results in your website becoming a business asset that works for you 24/7 attracting visitors and converting those visitors into leads that can then be nurtured into new business with an average lead cost that is significantly less than what an outbound marketing approach delivers. Does it make sense for your company? Absolutely. Now the big question, what are you going to do about it?
